Commissioned by young clients to overhaul a low stone cottage in Buckinghamshire in a Conservation Area, our proposals seek to bring modern living to the home by redefining spaces and unlocking flow throughout. Opening up ceilings to form vaulted living spaces, and adding large areas of glazing to the rear gardens will connect the exterior and interior and create a home of simplicity, tactility and wellness. From one of our first conversations with the client, the following intent was suggested:
"Minimal, warm, primal"
Working with multiple natural and heritage friendly materials such as lime, oak and natural stone, this will be a quiet home with a considered language and palette reflecting it's context.
